"Stompin' at the Savoy is  classified as a 1934 "jazz standard" piece composed by Edgar Thompson. The song got its name  after the famous Savoy Ballroom in New York City.
Benny Goodman's 1936 instrumental version of this song was a massive hit world-wide.
